EYB, is infamous for not having ice packs at the fields. I personally have had multiple encounters when a child needed an ice pack and there where none to be found. Considering I was part of the EYB travel programs, I literally have had other teams say how “ridiculous it is that there are never ice packs”.
In 2025, I had a child smoked in the face with a ball and guess what…. There where no ice packs at any of the Crestview baseball fields. Fortunately, I only live a few blocks away and was able to get ice for the boy that was hit in the face. I then decided to send the following email. (see below)
When I went to get the ice packs, I was given about 12 ice packs for the 2 fields. Curious how long those ice packs lasted given there is at least 5+ games a week at those fields. I asked if I could take another box and was told no. Here is a link to Amazon where you could buy ice packs in bulk!
PS. What happened to the incident report that was never filled out? I used to be a supervisor for the Park District and it was my responsibility to ensure that the incident was filled out and trained my staff on how to do that. Who would be accountable and responsible for this failure in your program? I know our insurance company would have not been happy to find out incident reports were not being filled out.
